"...Well, first of all, of course, when a new person is approaching an African faith system, they should realize that an African faith system is not a monolith. It's not fixed-one church, one temple, or one system; its multiple systems. African faith is fragmented. It was fragmented hundreds of years ago. So, there is more than one way to approach the African reality. There are many ways to approach it and each one is valid. What we bring to it what we get out of it." ~ Baba Medahochi

The spiritual and phislosophical impact that Medahochi left on me and I, in turn, have been able to relay to others is beyond words. I have not seen a clearer teacher on Afrikan metaphysics and philosophy. At the same time, I have not seen spirit so clearly when I looked upon the physical Akoda himself. He will be greatly missed. However, we know that a spirit this strong and powerful cannot stay away from Onile for long.
I remember Medahochi teaching the version of Human Beings Become Orisa found in Eji Ogbe. So, in that light, I am sure that the teachings found in that Odu are about to manifest for this GREAT SPIRIT as he watches over us from the Vodun LINDON - the great "Over-there-ness".
We send our condolences and prayers to the family. To the spirit that was once the physical man we called "Baba, Medahochi, Oloye, Akoda, etc.) we say "o digbose".

Owonri'n Di says,
Accept a thing of value and hold on to it. Keep it safe. And when we are asked for it, we should give the thing to its owner. Goodness lies in not keeping it for ourselves. They Said: May we see our ancestors, and anyone who returns things to their owner will never be empty-handed.
Baba, all of our lives have been enriched as a result of you, your teachings, your wisdom, your initiations, your lessons, your life.......As an Elder and now as an Ancestor,we are charged to keep you safe and to accept the value of you and what you have brought into the world.
Please keep your eyes on us as we continue, hopefully, to transform to humans with IWA PELE', keeping your memory alive................and you keep our hands full.
As you would say-"It's all Good"!
Eternal Love,
Shangode'
